We seek a scholar with expertise in critical race feminisms with an emphasis in one or more of the following fields: abolitionism international political economy and/or feminist approaches to law rights and policy. The applicant would be expected to teach introduction level courses in Womens and Gender Studies as well as upper division courses in the applicants area of expertise. We are especially interested in candidates whose teaching and research can contribute to one or more of the departments affiliated interdisciplinary minors particularly Disability Studies and LGBTQ Studies. We welcome teacher-scholars with doctoral degrees in Womens and Gender Studies Ethnic Studies or other cognate interdisciplinary fields; candidates with PhDs in other social science and humanities disciplines with designated emphases in the areas outlined above will also be considered. The PhD is required; however ABD applicants who anticipate completion of the doctorate by Fall 2026 will also be considered.
The Department places a high priority on diversity social justice and inclusive pedagogy in fostering academic excellence as highlighted by the Departments two new minors in disability studies and LGBTQ studies.
