Job Description

The Production Manager is responsible for leading operations to ensure production is completed in a safe efficient and timely manner while maintaining quality standards. Will also be directly accountable to their financial results.
Essential Functions:
- Manage and evaluate machine resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime
- Strive to reduce expenses and increase productivity across product line(s)
- Ability to explain variances of actual vs budget expenses within the segment
- Establish workflow policies that enhance speed and efficiency without comprising safety of employees safety of product and quality.
- Aid in streamlining processes and best practices to drive efficiency gains and quality improvements.
- Coordinates daily shift operations to ensure timely and efficient completion of production orders.
- Provide oversight when needed for scrap entry
- Forecast material needs either outsourced or insourced including gate production (China Danville or Wagoner)
- Work with Engineering team to identify and evaluate VAVE projects
- Work with Sales to schedule all orders
- Create daily powder coating schedule based on completed black stock production and shipping schedule
- Work cross functionally with team members from all areas to drive continuous improvement activities in key areas
- Coordinate activities to support new product implementation engineering projects and manufacturing needs
- Assist floor supervisors and lead persons in training needs
- Monitor evaluate and report out on employee performance while providing coaching when needed.
- Complete annual performance reviews
- Schedules and assigns employees to work according to the demand of the production schedule.
- Track absenteeism and approve employees time in timekeeping system.
- PM equipment in department
- Check inventory for department weekly for purchasing requests
- Data entry to log information on production spreadsheets daily
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years previous supervisory experience in manufacturing facility
- Prefer knowledge in ABB pick/place robots and Panasonic mig welding robots
- 5 years mig welding experience
- Shot Blasting experience and knowledge
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to work autonomously with little oversight and make prudent and informed decisions often quickly and with limited information.
- Able to read and perform basic mathematical calculations as well
- Ability to work in fast paced environment
- Metal fabrication exp. a plus
- Basic Computer skills ie: E-mail data entry
- Some travel may be required for training or best-practice sharing up to 15%
