Job Description
LOCATION: District Wide - Academics Plus Charter Schools Inc.
Academics Plus Charter Schools Inc. (APCSI) is seeking an innovative and qualified Speech Language Pathologist to join our team for the 2024-2025 school year for grades K-12.Must hold a valid Arkansas Teacher License as a speech pathologistand current Arkansas Speech Pathology license.
Implement the speech-language services within building(s) assigned in keeping with district state and federal guidelines. Evaluate and assess students with speech-language disorders to determine eligibility for services and goals. Conduct regularly scheduled therapy for students as needed. Complete IEP progress monitoring and assessment paperwork for students in timely manner to comply with state and federal laws and regulations and district policies.
PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Demonstrate a relentless commitment to academics achievement of all students.
- Assess students with speech or language disorders and determine eligibility for services.
- Plan and provide appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech-language goals contained in Individual Education Plans (IEP).
- Participate in the IEP committee regarding interpretation of assessment data appropriate placement and goal setting for students with speech and/or language disorders according to district procedures.
- Evaluate student progress and determine readiness for termination of therapy services.
- Report student progress each nine week grading period to parent(s)/guardian(s).
- Counsel and involve parents in the special education process.
- Collaborate with classroom teachers to plan and implement classroom-based activities to improve oral and written language skills of students.
- Provide staff development training in assigned schools to assist school personnel in the identification and understanding of students with communication deficits.
- Compile maintain and file all reports records and other documents required.
- Comply with policies established by federal and state law ADE rule and APCS policy.
- Present a positive role model for students that supports the mission of the school district.
- Communicate positively with students parents visitors and staff.
- Effectively and positively communicate orally and in writing.
- Maintain a positive attitude and represent the school in a positive manner at all times.
- All other duties as assigned.

Physical Demands: Regular district-wide travel; moderate carrying
