Basic Job Functions:

Nucor Steel Tuscaloosa is seeking an Inventory and Logistics Planning Specialist who will play a critical role in managing inventory accuracy production planning and shipping logistics. Key responsibilities include investigating load discrepancies capacity planning and maintaining complex spreadsheets used for forecasting and corporate reporting. Additional duties include overseeing re-applications Level 2 processes yearly physical inventory offsite processing internal use inventory and donations to technical schools. This position requires close coordination with Inside Sales Reps Product Managers DSMs and Freight Admins to address customer order requirements forecast equipment needs and manage secondary inventory. Strong analytical skills are essential for shipping inventory and order data analysis as well as handling return goods processes including quality status updates and system teammates are expected to foster cooperation and teamwork while ensuring compliance with our Quality Control System.

Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate lead and uphold safety policies practices procedures and housekeeping standards at all times.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Inventory logistics or production planning experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and sound decision-making ability.
  • Proficiency in Excel and other data management tools.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in steel manufacturing or related industrial environment.
  • Familiarity with inventory systems and ability to interpret technical data

Physical Demands:

  • Computer use: Extended typing data entry and screen time for CRM email and orders.
  • Manual dexterity: Frequent hand use for typing phone and documents.
  • Visual focus: Sustained attention to screen details.

Environmental Demands:

  • Office-based: Primarily in a climate-controlled setting.
  • Mill access: Occasional exposure to noise heat dust machinery and uneven surfaces; PPE required.
  • Fast-paced: Requires multitasking prioritization and meeting deadlines.
