NIGHT SHIFT SAFETY SUPERVISOR
Responsibilities:
- Develop and enforce safety policies and procedures specific to the meat packing industry ensuring compliance with industry regulations company standards and best practices.
- Conduct regular inspections of the facility production lines and equipment to identify safety hazards and promptly implement corrective actions.
- Ensure compliance with lockout/tagout procedures for machinery maintenance and repairs and conduct regular safety checks to prevent accidents and injuries.
- Investigate incidents accidents or near-misses related to safety and implement preventative measure to minimize future occurrences.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams such as production quality assurance and maintenance to ensure effective safety practices throughout the plant.
- Stay up to date with relevant regulations industry trends and best practices in sanitation safety and food handling for the meat packing industry.
- Meet Key Performance Indicator (KPI) goals
- Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma GED or equivalent required
- Ability to communicate fluently in English (both written and verbally)
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
- Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to prioritize tasks
- Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment
- Ability to work well in a team
- Proficient with Microsoft
- Excellent attendance (Internal candidates must have less than 4 points)
- Ability to work 6 days a week
- Ability to be flexible with schedule when needed
- Ability to motivate and challenge team members in a positive manner
- Trustworthy with confidential and sensitive material
- Can perform the functions of the job with or without a reasonable accommodation
- As a salaried position with the company you may be required to travel at some point to other facilities to attend Company events or as a representative of the Company in other situations. Unless otherwise specified in this posting the amount of travel may vary and the most qualified candidate must be willing and able to travel as business needs dictate.
