Summary Statement:
Provide leadership and coordination of assigned CCTE programs in collaboration with building administrators and other instructional leaders under the supervision of the Director of College Career and Technical Education. Assist the CCTE Director in the management and supervision of all CCTE programs meeting all state and federal requirements.
Essential Functions:
- Maintain a positive relationship with students staff parents and community by modeling respect cooperation and professionalism with others recognizing the personal achievements and professional contributions of others and demonstrating knowledge of a sensitivity toward individuals and groups from all racial ethnic/cultural national socio-economic backgrounds.
- Complete required federal state and local reports.
- Provide and/or facilitate training of staff with regard to the most effective practices which lead to higher student achievement regardless of race ethnicity socioeconomic status or prior academic achievement.
- Manage CCTE partnership with Transition Program.
- Collaboratively work with teachers through OSPI program renewal process.
- Work with up to 150 business and community members in advisory or focus group capacity to ensure CTE Program Standards are embedded in all classes.
- Work with the CCTE Director to manage CTE instructor certification process.
- Work with CCTE Director to oversee and manage Department workflow.
- Establish a set of culturally responsive standard operating procedures practices and routines.
- Articulate the vision of the Evergreen Public Schools based on a professional commitment to improving learning and achievement for all students.
- Supervise assigned programs and evaluate assigned staff using the district evaluation process.
- Hire personnel working collaboratively with building administration.
- Use data to inform decisions provide instructional leadership for improving instruction and the use of research-based best practices for meeting goals related to program improvement.
- Provide and coordinate support for building administrators on district protocols specific to Office of Civil Rights and Consolidated Program Review issues specific to CCTE as well as classified and certified staff issues related to collective bargaining agreement.
- Lead for inclusive programming for students qualified for special education services and those learning English as a second language.
- Conduct all communications with staff business and community partners in an effective respectful timely and supportive manner.
- Prepare and provide timely and accurate written reports.
- Serve as an advocate for Evergreen Public Schools and its students in the community.
- Function as an effective team member with co-workers and the community to build productive collaborative relationships and to achieve program goals and objectives.
- Continue to increase professional knowledge skill and competencies in job-related areas incorporate and demonstrate new knowledge and skills on the job.
- Maintain confidentiality of program staff and student information.
- Develop cultural competence and a commitment to equity in outcomes and opportunities for adults and students.
- Lead for equity towards college and career readiness.
- Nurture a school environment that celebrates respects and values diversity where teaching and learning are made relevant and meaningful to students of various cultures.
- Publicly draw attention to all equity gaps that exist for various groups of students with plans to address their elimination.
- Initiate activities and discussions that lead to increased cultural competence of staff informing and expanding teaching practices within classrooms.
Qualifications:
- Masters Degree in Education or Curriculum and Instruction preferred.
- Hold CTE Director Certification or complete CTE Director Internship program within 2 years of hire.
- Valid program administrator or Principals credential.
- Minimum of five years teaching experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading teachers in professional development.
- Ability to demonstrate effective written and oral communications with diverse community members to include students staff parents and community stakeholders
- Three years building administrator experience with supervision of CCTE staff preferred.
- Demonstrated experience and skill in personnel selection and labor relations.
- Ability to respond to and engage with a diverse multi-cultural and multi-racial community and to work side by side and foster strong positive relationships with parents staff students and the public.
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate collaborative project teams and to promote consensus with groups having diverse perspectives and interests.
- Experience in developing and facilitating engaging professional development for staff and a commitment to equity while building a diverse and inclusive school community
- Demonstrated ability to supervise large groups.
- Demonstrated leadership qualities including the ability to be innovative and the ability to maintain positive and trusting relationships with staff parents business and community.
- Demonstrated knowledge of effective teaching strategies (Workshop Instructional Model etc.).
- Demonstrated ability to facilitate instructional framework development.
