Job Summary:

TheAssociate Manager Location-Based Experiences(LBE) will play a key supporting role in the strategic development execution and operational management of SEGAs LBE initiatives. Working directly under the Sr. Director this individual will assist with ongoing projects coordinating with partners and contributing to the evolution of immersive fan experiences based on SEGAs beloved brands especially Sonic the Hedgehog across the Americas and in Europe. This role is ideal for a detail-oriented strategic thinker with strong project management and communication skills looking to grow in the world of branded entertainment and experiences.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Business Development Support

  • Assist in researching new licensing and partnership opportunities for Sonic and other SEGA IP in the LBE space (e.g. attractions exhibits theme parks shows) and help move legal agreements through the approval process.
  • Help develop pitch presentations and materials that communicate SEGAs brand value and LBE vision.
  • Conduct competitive and market research to identify industry trends and potential collaborators.
  • Attend global workshops seminars and conferences as requested (e.g. IAAPA Licensing Expo) followed by a brief written report.
  • Liaise with the SEGAs global teams to ensure strategic alignment and consistency for SEGAs global LBE initiatives.
  • Maintain partner databases and track business development outreach.

Project Coordination

  • Support the Sr. Director in managing day-to-day project logistics timelines and documentation.
  • Coordinate internal and external meetings take notes and track follow-ups.
  • Review and route project submissions for internal approvals across key stakeholders.
  • Curate and organize brand assets for partners ensuring legal clearance for all shared materials.
  • Schedule and coordinate immersive brand introduction sessions for partners (brand immersions).
  • Work closely with SEGAs legal team to draft and manage NDAs and other legal documents as required.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (e.g. Lore and Strategy Brand Partnerships Marketing Lifestyle Product Development Gaming) to ensure brand consistency and alignment throughout projects.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Serve as a liaison between departments ensuring seamless communication and alignment on LBE projects.
  • Help facilitate global coordination across SEGA teams in Japan Europe and Latin America including occasional after-hours meetings with overseas partners.

Strategic Analysis & Reporting

  • Support the preparation of performance reports feasibility analysis and market projections for proposed or active LBE projects.
  • Track KPIs and benchmarks for partner projects to help assess performance and inform future strategy.

Other duties as assigned

Working in-office is an essential function of this position. This requirement of face-to-face interaction is in place to ensure effective supervision collaboration and -office attendance is required for the following reasons:

    • For effective supervision of employees and our work product which includes ensuring all employees have necessary oversight of their work and access to supervisory assistance which includes meetings to review work product deadlines and status.
    • To foster communication and collaboration among team members which includes the following: allowing for spontaneous brainstorming sessions and exchanges of ideas quick access to team members to enable collaborative problem-solving and stronger cohesion among co-workers and within teams.
    • To enhance the sharing of information necessary to effective job performance and product creation.
    • To enhance understanding of our stakeholders work and business needs facilitate a more seamless and organic workflow and ultimately increase efficiency and successful outcomes.

Qualifications

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in business themed entertainment hospitality or related field.
  • 2-3 years project management experience in location-based experiences licensing or related fields.
  • Familiarity with Sonic the Hedgehog and/or gaming/entertainment IP is a plus.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience with presentation development (PowerPoint Keynote) and tracking tools (Excel Smartsheet etc.).
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills able to build relationships and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and external partners.
  • Creative thinker with the ability to translate ideas into practical reality.
  • Understanding of branded content entertainment IP or fan engagement strategies.
  • Knowledge of industry trends and a genuine interest in emerging technologies in entertainment and location-based experiences.
  • Shows genuine interest by currently visiting immersive experiences theme parks and attractions museums live shows and exhibitions.
  • Willingness to attend industry workshops seminars and conferences as requested (e.g. IAAPA Entertainment Experience Evolution Licensing Expo).
  • Willing to conduct meetings with Europe and Japan at off hours.
  • Willingness to travel as required for project meetings and site evaluations.
  • Must be flexible and responsive to changing priorities and deadlines.
