Sr. Metrology Technician Part-Time/On Call

KBR Metrology supports Honeywell Aerospace and their suppliers with services including onsite visits test equipment calibration and repair metrology engineering and equipment inspection. They also offer preventative maintenance equipment sourcing CMM inspections automation and programming measurement technical support calibration recall system management and performance tracking dashboards.

Job Summary

We are seeking flexible project-ready professionals to join our talent pool for on-call assignments. Selected candidates will be engaged on a project-by-project basis. This opportunity is ideal for individuals looking to stay connected contribute as needed and be considered for contract or long-term roles as client needs arise. Assignment times may vary from a few days to several weeks.

KBRs Metrology team supports Honeywell Aerospace and its suppliers by providing a wide range of services such as onsite visits calibration equipment repair and metrology engineering. As a key member of this team you will be responsible for calibrating and certifying Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) to national standards troubleshooting and repairing complex systems and ensuring precise record-keeping of maintenance actions. The role offers an opportunity to work with advanced technical equipment create calibration procedures and contribute to the productivity and efficiency of the department. Candidates with relevant technical training and a background in electronics and instrumentation are encouraged to apply.

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Calibrates and certifies Test Measurement and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) traceable to the National Institute of Standards and Technology utilizing certified laboratory standards and manufacturer commercial or military specifications/calibration procedures.
  • Calibrates and troubleshoots fault isolation adjustment and repairs using Test.
  • Measure Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE) certified laboratory standards. Troubleshoots/repairs complex TMDE and integrated electronic systems utilizing theories of operation block diagrams schematics logic trees and software diagnostics.
  • Accurately records/reports maintenance actions using applicable maintenance data collection. Resolves group and customer issues seeks to improve the overall productivity of the department anticipates problems and initiates appropriate actions to eliminate them.
  • Ability to create calibration procedures when required.

Basic Qualifications

  • Must have a valid US drivers license.
  • AS degree or applicable technical training and certifications
  • Experience with Microsoft office (Word Excel and PowerPoint)
  • U.S. Citizenship Status required due to client requirement.
  • Provides advanced technical/electronic and instrumentation equipment repair work troubleshooting modifying testing calibrating adjusting repairing and installing electronic digital and analog equipment and monitoring devices.

Preferred Qualifications

  • AS degree or applicable technical training and certifications.
  • 4 years of directly related experience.
  • Provides advanced technical/electronic and instrumentation equipment repair work troubleshooting modifying testing calibrating adjusting repairing and installing electronic digital and analog equipment and monitoring devices.
  • Specific contract requirements regarding education and experience will prevail.
  • Previous customer service experience is a plus.
