The position is responsible for the Road User Group (RUG) program and job duties including program planning assessment coordination of activities and implementation. This role is responsible overseeing the monitoring evaluation partner technical assistance education and quality assurance of the program
The Road User Safety program works to reduce the injuries and fatalities of vulnerable road users including pedestrians bicyclists and older drivers who are at increased risk of negative health outcomes. This person works directly with other state agencies and community partners to improve our systems serving Vermont this position is a great opportunity for a candidate who is passionate in public health transportation issues.
This position Public Health Programs Administrator: General - Limited Service (Job Requisition #53142) is open to all State employees and external applicants. It is a Limited Service position which is non-tenured and authorized for a specific period of time. Limited Service positions are established for specially funded projects or programs.

AHS BACKGROUND CHECKS: Candidates must pass any level of background investigation applicable to the accordance with AHS Policy 4.02 Hiring Standards Vermont and/or national criminal record checks as well as DMV and adult and child abuse registry checks as appropriate to the position under recruitment will be conducted on candidates with the exception of those who are current classified state employees seeking transfer promotion or demotion into an AHS classified position or are persons exercising re-employment (RIF) rights.
Duties are performed primarily in a standard office setting but require frequent travel to community sites for which private means of transportation must be available. Public speaking and attendance at public meetings may be required. Some work outside of normal office hours may be required.
Bachelors degree AND four (4) years or more of professional level experience in administration planning or supervision in a public health health care or human services field. Including two (2) years of experience in public health.
OR
Masters degree in public health public administration or a health field AND two (2) years or more of professional level experience in administration planning or supervision in a public health health care or human services field.
