Job Description
Primary Duties & Responsibilities
- Providetransportationanalysiswithfocusonbusinessunit/supplychainrequirements
- Providerecommendationsonfreightcostsavingsandstreamliningopportunities
- Providequarterlyreportstobusinessunitsthatincludecostsavingsopportunitiesandresults
- Developandmaintainbillingsystemstoensureaccuracyofsupplierpayments/accountcoding
- Resolveshippingissuesandmakerecommendationsforprocessimprovements
- Creatingandrevisingstandardoperatingproceduresforlogisticsprocesses
- Trainingoffreightforwarders/carriers
- Creatingandtrackingtransportationprocessdocuments
- ManagingthefreightratedatabasethatisloadedintotheOracleTransportationManagement(OTM)tool
- Maintainingthelistofapprovedcarriersandtheroutingguide;trainingandenforcingtheuseoftheroutingguide
- Conductquarterlybusinessreviewswiththebusinessunitsandcarriers
- Preparationofshippingforecasts
- Reviewandnegotiatecarriercontractsincludingnegotiatingfreightrates
- Workingwithbusinessunitstomaximizetransportationsavingspotentialandprovidingquarterlystatusreports
- Guidingandadvisingdepartmentstooptimizelogistics performance
- Takingcorrectiveactionwithcarriersintheeventofservicefailures
- Manageone-timeratequotesandone-timeshipmentstosupportbusinessunits
- Monitor and develop transportation key performance indicators (KPIs).
Education & Experience
- Bachelorsdegreeintransportationlogisticsand/orsupplychain
- 7yearsofworkexperience managing transportation for a company the size of Coherent
Skills
- Experienceincarrierorotherrelatedthirdpartymanagement
- Experienceincontractualandnegotiationmanagement
- Projectmanagementskillsandexperience
- Proficiency inMSOfficeskills(ExcelPPTWordetc.)
- Knowledgeofcreatingprocessflowdiagrams(MicrosoftVisio)
- KnowledgeofdatabasesandPowerBIisanadvantage
