Alfred Health is a leader in health care delivery improvement research and education. We are the main provider of health services to people living in the inner southeast suburbs of Melbourne from ambulatory to inpatient and home and community-based services.
The Department
The Alfred Cancer program delivers comprehensive cancer care across Alfred Health for patients affected by cancer blood disorders and at the end of life.
The program provides quality clinical care for our local catchment and to all Victorians through our state-wide melanoma haematology and haemophilia services.
Alfred Cancer comprises service units providing clinical and research excellence in the fields of medical oncology radiation oncology haematology bone marrow transplant haemophilia melanoma and palliative care.
Clinical trials are a large focus of The Alfred Cancer program with research embedded in each medical unit. Alfred Cancer also partners with rural and regional centres to deliver clinical trials and research activity across Victoria.
The Program has a strong academic focus and a growing research portfolio supported by strategic partnerships with leading institutions such as Monash University. This includes a dedicated emphasis on nursing research recognising the vital role of nursing in cancer care and advancing evidence-based practice through academic collaboration.
The Role
The Strategic role Director of Operations Alfred Cancer will work in close partnership with the Program Director to lead and coordinate the delivery of safe high-quality cost-effective services across the Cancer Program.
With operational responsibility for the programs services the Director will drive performance manage budgets and resources improve patient outcomes and deliver on strategic objectives. Key responsibilities include:
This is a key leadership role requiring someone with strong clinical governance capability exceptional communication skills and a proven ability to manage complex health services. A proven track record of building and overseeing high perfroming teams is essential.
