Anatomy and Physiology Teacher
Job Description:
The DePaul College Prep Science Department seeks a collaborative energetic and positive educator for the role of an anatomy and physiology teacher. The ideal candidate is a qualified and experienced teacher with the following characteristics:
- Has experience teaching the structure and function of the bodys systems (skeletal muscular circulatory nervous systems) and their interrelationships;
- Has knowledge of high school level biology and chemistry curriculum and NGSS Standards;
- Has knowledge of state standards regarding the use and disposal of lab materials and proper lab safety protocols;
- Communicates and collaborates with peers effectively as sharing of lab space and materials is often required;
- Organizes and facilitates labs safely and ensures students understand and adhere to safety norms and standards;
- Has experience teaching real-world applications within the medical field. Please note that students in this course visit a cadaver lab;
- Values and seeks to understand the cultural and social identities of each student in their class;
- Integrates culturally responsive practices into daily teaching;
- A strong knowledge of Google Classroom or other technology applications/systems is necessary for a one-to-one classroom environment.
Qualifications:
BS degree inBiology or other relevant science discipline
Illinois PEL (teacher certification)
MA/MS or MEd preferred
