JOB DESCRIPTION AND POSITION REQUIREMENTS
The Center for the Business of Sustainability in the Smeal College of Business is seeking applicants for the part-time position of Event Strategy & Operations Intern Sustainability Event Coordination & Execution.
Job duties to include:
Planning and executing all logistics for the Annual Sustainability Summit
Supporting coordination and execution of the Impact Competition and Innovation Challenge
Organizing two in-person CBS Student Advisory Board (SAB) meetings during the Fall and Spring semesters
Assisting with marketing and planning efforts for three new student-led sustainability events
Serving as the day-of lead for major Center events to ensure smooth operation
Managing event registration promotion and overall planning activities
Supporting day-of event execution and conducting post-event follow-up
Requirements qualifications and/or competencies:
Currently enrolled as an undergraduate at Penn State University preferably a 2nd or 3rd year student
Strong interest in sustainability event planning and operations management
Demonstrated passion or strong interest in sustainability event planning and operational execution
Excellent organizational communication and multitasking skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Experience with event planning marketing or project management is a plus
Detail-oriented and proactive in managing event logistics and timelines
Schedule:
Approximately 10 hours per week over a 12-week period. Flexible scheduling is available but some events may require specific availability on evenings or weekends.
Compensation:
The starting rate for this job is $14 per hour.
