CNA-Certified Nurse Aide
PRN only days and nights (onsite at the hospital)
JOB SUMMARY
Under the supervision of an RN performs basic patient care activities.
QUALIFICATIONS
Rehab experience
Completion of course for nursing assistant preferred
Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant preferred
CPR/BCLS Certification
Minimum six months experience in an acute or long-term facility preferred.
Excellent oral and written communication and interpersonal skills.
License: Current Texas CNA certification with current listing on the Texas Board of Nursing Nurse Aide Registry.
Certifications: Current American Heart Association BLS certificate or obtained within 90 days after hire date.
Required Skills
Requires critical thinking skills decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
Essential Functions
Performs basic patient care activities as delegated and supervised by an RN including monitoring vital signs possibly taking blood glucose measurements and recording intake and output.
Assists patients with tending to personal care and activities of daily living including but not limited to bathing grooming eating and ambulation.
Reports abnormal findings or changes in physical mental and emotional conditions to nursing staff.
Assists with keeping patient rooms and common areas stocked clean and orderly.
