Job Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is looking for a Deploy Support Engineer to join our growing team within Infrastructure Operations. You will work in a dynamic environment to drive the stability and sustainability of our next-generation networks and assist in the development of innovative ways to automate and scale our network.
The positions responsibilities include leading initiatives and programs for scaling support of several data center locations and be responsible for defining scopes of work and areas of influence with networking teams and capacity management. The Deploy Support Engineer will work closely with Infrastructure Operations management and both internal customers and external vendors to facilitate smooth project execution as directed by Technical Program Managers and Networking Fabric Teams
You will leverage your experience supporting large scale enterprise class networks as well as network implementation and troubleshooting. As a Deploy Support Engineer you will work in a fast paced collaborative environment with regular peer and customer addition to providing top-tier management and support of Amazons vast network infrastructure Deploy Support Engineers develop build and enhance tools used by the rest of the organization. You will also develop and document best practices and refine and enhance operational procedures. You will work directly with stakeholders communicating highly-complex technical topics to a non-technical audience.
Daily responsibilities include:

- Participate in the migration basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware.
- Work closely with our internal customers on designs/solutions; bringing those designs/solutions from concept to production.
- Create and update our network standards and ensure that the network is deployed to these standards.
- Work closely with our automation teams in defining the tools that allow us to scale at unprecedented volume.
- Work with partner teams on new hardware and deployment designs. Also new tooling and development opportunities for the organization as a whole
- Travel within geographical work area. Up to 20% travel outside traditional work area may be required possibly including international travel
- Move and lift computer equipment up to 40lbs

- - 2 years of software development or 2 years of technical support experience
- - Experience scripting in modern program languages
- - Experience troubleshooting and debugging technical systems
- - Knowledge of web services distributed systems and web application development
- - Experience troubleshooting & maintaining hardware & software RAID
- - Experience with REST web services XML JSON

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $67200/year in our lowest geographic market up to $150300/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
