Position title: Manufacturing Software Engineer II

Position Summary

As a Manufacturing Software Engineer II on the Operations Engineering Team you will independently design deploy and optimize software systems for calibration validation and production testing. You will take ownership of projects that span hardware-software integration sensor calibration and system performance improvements ensuring repeatable manufacturing outcomes for highly engineered precision instruments.

This hands-on role involves working directly with cross-functional teams including Production Product Development and Quality to create safe efficient and highly reliable test and calibration processes. Your work will directly influence product quality operational throughput and continuous improvement initiatives across the organization.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and deployment of scalable software systems for product calibration functional testing and validation.
  • Design intuitive interfaces and workflows for production floor systems ensuring ease of use and consistency.
  • Integrate software with factory instruments sensors and data acquisition platforms.
  • Collaborate with design and manufacturing engineering teams to define calibration strategies and support Design for Manufacturability (DFM).
  • Drive automation and standardization of manual processes to improve throughput reduce variation and ensure traceability.
  • Aggregate and analyze production test data to identify trends improve product design and drive continuous improvement.
  • Maintain and improve legacy test systems while designing next-generation solutions.
  • Support change management root cause analysis and problem-solving efforts across engineering and operations.
  • Mentor and support junior engineers technicians and cross-functional partners.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering Computer Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 4-8 years experience
  • Proficiency in OOP using Python C# or C.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL/database design and usage for traceability and logging.
  • Proven expertise in at least one of the following: sensor integration metrology serial protocols (e.g. RS-232 Modbus) DAQ systems or calibration systems.
  • Applicants must be eligible to work in the United States.

Skills & Experience:

  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g. Git) CI/CD practices and automated testing frameworks.
  • Understanding of ISO standards traceability and compliance in manufacturing environments.
  • Demonstrated experience working with MES/SCADA systems and production data infrastructure.
  • Strong analytical skills with a proactive hands-on approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills and a strong collaborative mindset.
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced cross-functional and continuously learning environment.
  • Drive cross-team collaboration to improve production yield and traceability.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives with measurable impact on calibration efficiency and data integrity.
  • Advanced coding skills version control (Git) CI/CD implementation.
  • Expertise in sensor integration DAQ systems and calibration routines.
  • Understanding of ISO compliance data integrity and software validation.
  • Ability to lead cross-functional development efforts in a fast-paced production setting.
  • Self-starter with excellent problem-solving skills analytical mindset and the ability to prioritize complex tasks.
  • Excellent communication skills ability to work with a variety of different functional teams and comfortable in an entrepreneurial environment.

Working Environment/Physical Activities:

This role is on-site 5 days per week in a Lean Manufacturing environment utilizing machines and materials and depends on direct and daily communication with production personnel. Hybrid/remote work is not available for this role. General office environment with time spent each day in production areas and with cross functional teams. This role may require occasional travel (up to 10%) and occasional overtime.

Salary:$85k $115k/ Annually

Additional Compensation: Participation in a Company sponsored variable compensation plan.
