Step into the role of Kitchen Assistant and be part of something special within the SH Community. You will contribute to an exceptional and compassionate experience for our valued residents all while being a crucial member of our dynamic and like-minded team. Join us in delivering a top-tier meals service and making a real difference every single day.
This casual position offers flexibility with a variety of shifts 07:00 - 11:00 / 07:00 - 15:30 / 11:00 to 18:00 / 14:00 to 18:00 on Mondays Tuesdays Wednesdays Thursdays Fridays Saturdays & Sundays.
Your day-to-day
- Assisting chefs in the preparation of approximately 300 meals per day
- Coordinating the wash-up area during shifts including directing volunteers
- Collecting food from dry store and freezer
- Unloading truck deliveries
- From time to time you may be required to help out in laundry

Were looking for
- Previous experience as a kitchen hand (desirable but not essential)
- Able to do weekend and weekday shifts
- Whilst not a requirement a Certificate II or III in Hospitality (Kitchen Operations) or Safe Food Handling and Manual Handling Certificate will be highly regarded
- Knowledge of relevant regulations in relation to food hygiene standards and workplace safety
- A proven ability to manage the kitchen & laundry environment in a safe and responsible manner
- An ability to work independently as well as be an effective team member
