Job Duties
The Laboratory staff at SWVMHI consistently provide accurate and precise laboratory services through the collection and analysis of blood and body fluids for the diagnosis and treatment of disease in the patient population we serve.
Ability to read comprehend and carry-out written and verbal instructions
Considerable knowledge of how to use laboratory equipment including sanitization
Knowledgeable on conducting routine and complex diagnostic tests
Customer service skills
Ability to input and track data
Ability to train evaluate and cooperate with staff
Excellent phlebotomy skills
Ability to work in a secure and locked environment with individuals who are
experiencing acute symptoms of mental illness and/or additional forensic/legal
involvement
Minimum Qualifications
The Credential Maintenance Program is required for all individuals who are ASCP
certified beginning January 1 2004
Certified Medical Laboratory Technician
Additional Considerations
Drivers license preferred
Experience working in a clinical or medical laboratory preferred

These positions are hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year.
