    QUALIFICATIONS
    1. High School diploma required bachelors degree in a related disciplinepreferred.
    2. Law Enforcement military or security background required.
    3. Experience in similar duties either inpublic education private industry business or government preferred.
    4. Extensive knowledge/experience with local and state judicial systems.
    5. Have knowledge skill and or experience in the implementation of Positive Behavior Intervention Supports (PBIS) strategies or be willing to receive training in those strategies.
    6. Working knowledge/experience of Arizona Revised Statutes related to school policing andsecurity.
    7. Must possess and maintain a valid Arizona State Drivers License.
    8. Ability to obtain certification in Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) EmergencyManagement
    9. Ability to obtain a valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.

    KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

    3. Ability to work professionally and collaboratively with staff students parents and community.

    7. Understanding of NIMS (National Incident Management System) and Crisis Management Response.
    8. Working knowledge of the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA) regulations that apply to the School District
    9. Utilize with fidelity the District Positive Behavior Intervention Support (PBIS) program at the building level.
    10. Ensure information obtained through the course of duties associated with this position is held in the highest of confidentiality.
    11. Perform all duties in accordance with Federal and State laws district procedures and Board policies; including mandatory reporting procedures

    PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    1. Responsible to evaluate school/district buildings and grounds to ensure safety processes and facilities are aligned with emergency management plans.
    2. Responsible for emergency response training and FEMA training for all district employees.
    3. Provide guidance to school building administration regarding mandatory safety trainings/drills for students to ensure compliance with all state and federal guidelines.
    4. Respond to emergency situations for the purpose of assessing managing and resolving safety concerns in collaboration with building administrators and emergency response as applicable.
    5. Monitor proper operation of fire systems intrusion systems rescue assistance systems elevators and phones and emergency generators along with notifying facility personnel in the event of system malfunction or failure.
    6. Secondary individual to respond to alarm or trouble signals from each system.
    7. Participate in court hearings and matters of prosecution as requested by law.
    8. Deliver parental notifications regarding attendance and truancy issues.
    9. Liaison with local law enforcement and other local and state departments to provide resources and information related to school safety.
    10. Support for building administrators within critical incidents and appropriation of resources for response.
    11. Knowledge of safety procedures necessary to eliminate or prevent accidents and safety hazards.
    12. Coordinate with site-based administrators and supervisors to address and correct safety/security issues on campus.
    13. Maintain instructor certification support and coordinate district-wide ALICE certification training.
    14. Chairperson for the District Safety Committee.
    15. Chairperson for the District Emergency Response Team (DERT). Provide training for the members of the District Emergency Response Team (DERT).
    16. Perform other job-related tasks as mandated by the Superintendent or their designee.

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS

    1. Must be physically able to lift carry push pull or otherwise move objects weighing a minimum of 50 pounds frequently.
    2. Must be physically able to ascend/descend ladders and walk and/or stand for extended periods of time.
    3. Must be physically able to be exposed to hot cold humid or windy conditions caused by weather on occasion.
    4. Must be physically able to perceive the nature of sound near and far vision depth perception providing oral information and the manual dexterity to operate equipment necessary to fulfill the duties of this position.

    ORGANIZATIONAL RELATIONSHIPS

    The District Safety & Security Coordinator reports to the Superintendent of SVUSD. The District Safety & Security Coordinator will interact cooperatively with all other staff positions. All elements of good human relations will be practiced.

    INITIAL WAGE PLACEMENT PLAN:Starting at$25.00/hour
