Job Description

Position Summary:

The Mental Health Counseling (MHC) MA Program at Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology Yeshiva University seeks to hire a non-tenure-track Clinical Assistant Professor and Director of Clinical Training to start in Fall 2025. The Director of Clinical Training (DCT) will serve as the main faculty member responsible for developing and maintaining partnerships with fieldwork sites for the practicum and internship courses for the Mental Health Counseling Masters program. The DCT will collaborate with faculty to develop and manage fieldwork policies advise students in finding fieldwork placements and act as a liaison between Ferkauf and fieldwork site supervisors for students enrolled in the in-person live online and anytime online cohorts.

Position Responsibilities:

Clinical Site Placement and Management:

  • Identify clinical sites suitable for student placement and develop partnerships through site visits regular meetings with clinical supervisors and conducting outreach to potential sites.
  • Approve clinical placements and monitor student completion of clinical training requirements according to different state licensing and education requirements.
  • Manage student evaluations and progress for each semester that students are enrolled in Counseling Practicum Internship I and Internship II.
  • Collaborate with fieldwork sites and counseling faculty for any issues related to student remediation needs.
  • Collaborate with the Fieldwork Coordinator to establish affiliation agreements with fieldwork sites.
  • Manage and update the Canvas fieldwork course with pertinent information related to fieldwork policies procedures and required forms.

Training and Supervision:

  • Develop and conduct fieldwork orientation sessions before students start theirpracticum course.
  • Teach Counseling Practicum and Internship courses to first-year and second-year Masters students.
  • Maintain accreditation program and University standards for clinical training.
  • Coordinate supervision needs for any MHC students who do their internship hours at the Parnes Clinic of the Ferkauf Graduate School of Psychology.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Assist with program admissions including reviewing applications and interviewing prospective students.
  • Serve as a faculty advisor to first-year and second-year students.
  • Participate in program-related events such as orientation open houses and commencement.

Experience & Educational Background:

  • PhD in Counselor Education and Supervision.
  • Record of teaching excellence at the graduate level.
  • Experience teaching and administering counseling programs in both online and in-person formats.
  • Knowledge of clinical supervision models such as the Discrimination Model (DM).
  • Experience with an LMS such as Canvas.
  • Knowledge of CACREP and MPCAC accreditation standards.
  • Licensed in New York State as an LMHC.
