You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailWe are seeking a highly motivated Research Chemist to join our Future Technologies Team in the Substrate Protection and Engineering Materials Group at our Burbank S&T facility. On this team you will focus on next-generation technologies and innovative breakthroughs in aerospace materials. This is an exciting opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies bring novel concepts to practice and contribute to the development of advanced products.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct hands-on laboratory work to support the research and development of innovative materials and technologies emphasizing accuracy and efficiency in experimental design and execution while adhering to safety procedures.
Characterize materials using various analytical techniques gaining a fundamental understanding of the materials through collaborative efforts with internal teams and external institutions such as nearby universities.
Collect organize and analyze data to extract valuable insights that guide the direction of research.
Actively contribute to idea generation and engage in technical problem-solving.
Communicate results through written and oral reports to the broader team.
Collaborate in cross-functional teams to advance projects.
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering Materials Science or Chemistry.
Hands-on experience in laboratory work (e.g. wet chemistry material synthesis formulation or characterization) is strongly preferred.
Prior experience (1-2 years) in innovative projects (internship coursework or undergraduate research) is a significant plus with a demonstrated interest in research related to polymers composites or advanced material characterization.
Strong ability to execute experiments collect and analyze data and document results with attention to detail.
Excellent communication and teamwork skills to support multiple projects.
Must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident.
Starting Salary Range: $75000-$90000
