Our central perception and control software development department plays a key role by providing expertise for various interdisciplinary project teams. Our technological focus lies on perception and control software to process large sensor data sets (eg. for image based analysis for defect detection) and control autonomous systems (eg. robotic underwater vehicles). Our development processes are agile and our teams are distributed across continents. As we operate in the realm of critical infrastructure our solutions must meet stringent regulatory requirements for security and reliability.
You will lead and develop the central perception and control team technical and managerial fostering a culture of innovation and excellence within an agile lean working environment. You will plan team capacities and expand the team as needed with the right talent
You will support existing projects (e.g. in image data and sensor analysis) from conception through to successful production deployment and help identifying and conceptualizing new use cases
You will ensure that perception and control software solutions are efficiently developed deployed and maintained. You will also be hands-on when needed in technically challenging projects
In our safety-critical domain you will ensure compliance with relevant regulatory requirements during the development and deployment. You will establish best practices for high quality and reliability
Working within a matrix organization you will collaborate closely with interdisciplinary project teams and departments focusing on other technology fields. You will understand their requirements and translate them into effective perception and control software solutions while promoting knowledge sharing across the organization
You will be responsible for your departments budget and the strategic planning of resources for related projects. This includes the selection and management of external partners or service providers as necessary
You drive the companys perception and control software strategy forward

You hold a degree in Computer Science Systems Engineering Data Science or a related field and have several years of hands-on experience in developing and implementing perception and control software solutions. You combine theoretical research knowledge with practical experience in released robotics or other similar mechatronic systems projects
You have successfully led teams (both technically and managerially) and can motivate develop and align your team with shared goals. Experience in project management as well as budget and personnel responsibilities is essential
You are familiar with agile methodologies (Scrum/Kanban) and have experience in shaping flexible and efficient development processes. You view change as an opportunity and foster a culture of continuous learning
You thrive in interdisciplinary settings. You can communicate effectively with experts from other domains (e.g. engineering product management) and external partners translating complex requirements into viable robotics software solutions
You understand overall company strategy and can derive a clear perception and control software roadmap from it. You are also able to simplify complex technical matters for management and deliver tangible results
You possess broad knowledge of current research work in the perception and control domain. Experience with distributed systems is an advantage
You have knowledge on quality and reliability assurance for software in safety critical systems. You act responsibly and maintain a strong focus on quality
Fluent English is mandatory; knowledge of German is advantageous
You are willing to travel occasionally between our locations
