Job Description

Rancho BioSciences (Rancho) is an all-remote provider of biomedical data curation data engineering and data science tech-enabled services to the pharma and biotech end markets primarily in drug discovery and translational research. Rancho provides end-to-end solutions across data curation data engineering data mining and data analysis / bioinformatics to help customers harmonize disparate biomedical data sets to accelerate and improve R&D processes delivered by a highly credentialed team of scientists data experts and engineers. Rancho leverages internally developed tools and accelerators using AI natural language and MML technology to make its work more efficient. Rancho has also recently invested in the development of a consulting practice to further drive strategic relationships at our customers and this practice has already become revenue generating and will also generate incremental revenue for the rest of Rancho.

Vice President SALES

The Vice President of Sales will be a member of Ranchos Executive Leadership Team and be responsible for driving organic growth across the company with the entire sales team reporting to this role. Charged with developing and implementing the go-to-market strategy in alignment with the companys overall vision and strategy the VP will ensure seamless collaboration between commercial and subject matter experts to drive the achievement of the organizations financial goals.

Today the company is at an early stage of growth/development we are looking for an individual who can operate in a largely standalone fashion. The individual must bring a solid entrepreneurial mindset and a track record of growing companies in a similar scale to Rancho to be successful especially in an environment with minimal infrastructure.

The roles near-term focus will be to build up the sales pipeline and improve coverage in part through new introductions to more senior executive (VPs and above) at top pharma and biotech companies mapping decision makers building a playbook of case studies and developing an account-centric strategy. There will also be a near-term expectation to grow the team to support these efforts.

Candidates should bring deep subject matter expertise in sales best practices as well as domain expertise in the relevant biopharmaceutical customer segments we will be serving including research preclinical clinical and post-approval / real world.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead Ranchos overall sales efforts taking a consultative sales approach. The VP of Sales should partner seamlessly with the science team to create opportunities for them to showcase their skills and ensure seamless delivery of projects. The VP of Sales should bring a client-centric results-driven self-reliant player-coach mindset to guide and assist their team in unlocking new opportunities and delivering tangible value to our clients by exemplifying and modeling the values and behaviors that drive performance trust and collaboration.
  • Implement a Strategic Account Management structure for our existing and key potential future customers ensuring orchestration and alignment of activities amongst all functional teams.
  • Act as executive sponsor together with other Rancho leaders on strategies and initiatives to identify important new clients and ensure optimal engagement client satisfaction and relationship expansion.
  • Drive profitable growth customer penetration and wallet share expansion in key strategic accounts.
  • Develop validated and measurable strategies and tactics for lead generation and sustainable expansion of new logos.
  • Implement robust mechanisms and voice-of-the-customer initiatives to capture customer input and feedback and ensure the creation of concrete time-bound action plans to address individual and consolidated challenges and opportunities.
  • Partner closely with the CEO Marketing and the rest of the Executive Leadership Team to ensure alignment of resources to achieve financial goals.
  • Present to the Board of Directors on at least a quarterly basis about the commercial performance of Rancho and its key accounts including active understanding of key opportunities and strategies for future growth.

Qualifications:

  • Experience implementing successful sales programs in life science technology-enabled services businesses. A proven track record of driving growth in multiple business situations.
  • Proven experience delivering top line results for a company of greater than $30M in annual revenue.
  • Strong and expansive network of relationships in pharma and biotech that can be used to build enduring new relationships for Rancho.
  • Deep knowledge of the customer set we serve and domain expertise in our relevant subject areas. The individual should bring a skill set across research discovery preclinical clinical and post-approval / real world that is aligned with our SOM/market potential.
  • Ability and willingness to take a hands-on approach including carrying an individual sales target with a player-coach mindset.
  • Ability to successfully assume responsibility for the stewardship and growth of Ranchos key accounts.
  • Ability to build and lead a successful and efficient commercial team while also working seamlessly with other key stakeholders and teams at Rancho.
