You will be updated with latest job alerts via emailAs the Geographic Information System (GIS) Analyst you will provide highly skilled geomatics expertise and experience. You are an essential part of the team; leading and overseeing a host of technical projects related to the support operation and evolution of GIS technology within Build Nova Scotia including hardware software and data maintenance.
Primary Responsibilities:
1. Develop and maintain relational spatial databases and perform related analytical functions using SQL python and arcade to manage and automate workflows.
2. Employ GIS technologies analytical tools and methodologies
3. Data collection conversion and manipulation.
4. Design and implement data visualization tools to communicate insights and outputs for staff and stakeholders (web maps applications & dashboards).
5. Training staff and oversee the development of technical documentation.
6. Promotes the integration of GIS in other divisions to enhance decision making and optimize operations.
7. Assists the Manager of Asset Management GIS & Capital Planning as needed.
8. May perform other duties as assigned.
The successful candidate will ideally have the following education/professional experience levels:
1. Bachelors degree in a related field (Geomatics Geography Environmental Science) 3 years relevant experience or diploma in geomatics from a recognized institution with 5 years of experience
2. Strong understanding of GIS Principles data management and system architecture with demonstrated expertise in GIS technologies tools data quality standards and policy development.
3. Strong knowledge of ArcGIS Pro ArcGIS Online and Portal enterprise
4. Proficiency in python arcade for scripting and automation
5. Detail-oriented with strong communication presentation and project coordination skills.
