Job Summary
The Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders focuses on providing specialized education and training in speech language and hearing sciences. The department offers programs that prepare students for careers in speech-language pathology and audiology equipping them with the skills to diagnose and treat communication disorders.
The Communication Science and Disorders Department Office Student Assistant plays a critical role in the function of the department. Under direct supervision the office student assistants perform duties ranging from unskilled to skilled and/or specialized in a variety of positions that typically require the use of manual clerical public contact and/or analytical skill. Duties include but are not limited to:
Assist staff by providing front desk support including responding to inquiries from students/faculty/alumni answering phones responding to voicemails creating fliers and email requests.
Assist with event support such as creating flyers emails blasts social media postings event set-up and execution.
Deliver mail to various campus locations
Scan copy and archive documents for faculty and staff
Assist with tracking office supplies
Other duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Ability to learn and perform assigned work; follow oral instructions; work cooperatively with faculty staff and other students; communicate effectively with all levels; and read and write English at a level appropriate to the position.
