Position Overview
The Illinois Department of Transportation is seeking a Clerical Trainee to serve as a Mail Services Assistant Trainee. Under immediate supervision for a period of not less than 6 months with trainee participation from at least 20 hours per week up to a full time equivalency work schedule during the trainee period receive on-the-job training as a participant in an agency training program to gain experience performing a variety of mail service duties such as receiving sorting and delivering incoming mail packages (some weighing 40-50 pounds) and inter-office correspondence to office and various mail stations within the Hanley Building facility and operating a variety of mailroom machinery including folding machines mail inserter mail opening machine as well as various packaging equipment.
