Position Summary
An Endoscopy Scope Technician is a trained healthcare professional responsible for the preparation maintenance and disinfection of equipment used in endoscopic procedures. This individual plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and efficient execution of endoscopy services by supporting clinical teams and maintaining compliance with infection control protocols.
Essential Functions
-Sets up and prepares endoscopy suites prior to procedures.
-Ensures all endoscopy equipment including scopes and accessories is operational and properly sterilized according to facility standards.
-Performs routine checks and calibrations on equipment.
-Cleans disinfects and sterilizes endoscopic instruments and accessories following strict infection control protocols.
-Documents all cleaning and maintenance processes accurately.
-Monitors and maintains inventory of supplies and equipment.
-Ensure necessary items are available and stocked for daily procedures.
-Assists with patient preparation and positioning for procedures.
-Assists with patient transport and movement as needed.
-Maintains accurate records of procedures equipment usage sterilization processes and patient interactions.
-Identifies and resolves minor equipment issues.
-Escalates technical problems to appropriate personnel to minimize procedure delays.
Adheres to all safety protocols infection control guidelines and facility policies.
-Stays updated on industry standards and compliance requirements.
-Assists with additional tasks such as cleaning rooms making beds transporting patients and handling paperwork.
-Performs on-call duties as necessary.
-Adheres to and follows all patient experience initiatives.
-Reports to and departs from work on time and as scheduled.
-Performs other duties as assigned.
-Must be able to deal with stress while maintaining composure.
-Follows and adheres to TRMC vaccine policy(s) mandated by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Work Experience
-One year of Operating Room experience preferred.
-Experience working as a Endoscopy Scope Tech preferred.
Education
-High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
-BLS (Basic Life Support) within 30 days of hire date.
