Who are we looking for
At GHD we are looking for a new Graduate Structural Engineer to join our Maritime & Coastal team at our San Francisco office. Research design and construct buildings and structures that are safe and capable of withstanding the elements to which they will be exposed as well as improving the structural integrity of existing buildings or constructs.
Working with an energetic and high performing team this position offers a variety of work and will see you involved in:
- Monitor Construction Works: Help monitor and oversee the delivery of works to ensure that construction maintenance or improvement works are delivered in accordance with quality cost and time requirements.
- Data Collection and Analysis: Collate and analyze data using preset tools methods and formats. Involves working independently.
- Engineering Drawings: Create engineering drawings to support the communication evaluation and implementation of engineering solutions.
- Engineering Solutions Design: Contribute to the development of and implement feasibility testing of proposed engineering solutions to provide feedback and data to validate the design.
- Engineering Standards Specification: Carry out a range of activities under the guidance of more senior colleagues to support the drafting of engineering standards and specifications and the evaluation of the effectiveness of those standards.
- Technical Developments Recommendation: Research and suggest technical developments to improve the quality of the website/portal/software and supporting infrastructure to better meet users needs.
- Personal Capability Building: Develop own capabilities by participating in assessment and development planning activities as well as formal and informal training and coaching. Develop and maintain an understanding of relevant technology external regulation and industry best practices through ongoing education attending conferences and reading specialist media.
- Testing: Use product specifications to design test procedures and standards.
- Research: Carry out a range of research activities either to support others or to fulfill the requirements of the role.
- Technical Troubleshooting: Support technical troubleshooting efforts aiding in the quick and accurate identification analysis and resolution of technical issues with equipment and experiments.
- Project Management: Support others by carrying out a range of project management activities.
- Client & Customer Management (External): Help senior colleagues manage client and customer relationships by using relevant sales or client systems.

Salary Range: $78390 - $130650 based on experience and location.
