As caretakers of sacred funds we invest in income-generating properties and land to support the Churchs mission. Our focus is on the acquisition build-to-hold development and portfolio level management of office industrial multi-family build-to-rent hospitality and retail properties.

We are now looking to recruit an experienced real estate fund analyst with the right skills values and mindset and who can see themselves in the following questions:
Passionate about commercial real estate equity investing
Understand the key factors and characteristics which result in some fund sponsors having a better chance than others in performing in the top quartile of their peer set
More naturally attracted to the investment vehicles within the real estate industry albeit aware of alternative direct real estate opportunities and where we are in the market cycle
Comfortable with high levels of individual accountability (across a diversified number of holdings) while also collaborating closely with team members
Keen to add value within a flat partnership-like team structure that values regular communication both formal and informal.
Happy to present convincing investment rationales to the team and committees be subject to robust and rigorous debate in a professional and collaborative manner and have the humility to admit on occasion when maybe more work needs to be done or the case might not stack up
Comfortable in presenting along with all team members on mistakes that you have made in previous investments with the objective of constantly improving our investment process where possible
A proven investment track record with strong communication and analytical skills
Sensitive to capital preservation as much as capital appreciation
Demonstrated grit to tackle and complete difficult and complex projects that generate long-term outsized alpha
Driven by a larger purpose of helping protect and grow the reserve funds of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints
Conduct detailed macro/micro research focused on specific markets globally to determine change in rental rates cap rates market absorption transaction activity construction trends population growth job growth and industry concentration for investment and development opportunities and corporate strategy
Support Fund Portfolio Manager in creating and implementing investment strategy for the fund portfolio
Evaluate and recommend accretive investment opportunities in the private commercial real estate fund space
Initiate and sustain high-quality analysis of prospective and existing positions
Proactively communicate investment information on individual vehicles as well as provide views on existing fund investments
Generate quarterly reports detailing fund portfolio performance highlighting risks and opportunities for each position
Ensure fund portfolio data is properly and accurately uploaded to databases for in-depth analytics and dashboard reporting
Manage portfolio performance dashboards and ensure results are reliable
Support in due diligence on approved fund vehicles
Must be a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and currently temple worthy
Bachelors degree minimum Finance Economics and/or Accounting preferred
Relevant real estate investment experience
Excellent verbal written and interpersonal communication skills
Clear technical and analytical skills that lead to timely decisions
Manage database of investment information
Understanding of macro-economics financial statements and commercial real estate
Effective time management relationship management negotiation and prioritization skills
Keen to add value within a small team ability to work independently and as a member of a team and courage to ask questions
Ability to be flexible and adapt with a demonstrated grit in completing complex tasks and projects
Expert in Excel programming experience a plus (e.g. VBA SQL Python SAS)
