Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

Annual Salary: $51253

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday 8:30 am - 5:00 pm with some on-call responsibilities

Take the lead in facilities management with Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board in a full-time onsite role. As a Facilities Maintenance Coordinator youll do more than fix whats broken-youll play a vital part in preserving the integrity and safety of our agencys infrastructure. Youll work closely with electricians HVAC technicians and vendors using your expertise to ensure that every building and vehicle is operating at its best.

Your day to day as the Facilities Maintenance Coordinator

As the Coordinator of Facilities Maintenance youll play a critical role in keeping our agency running safely and efficiently. Each day brings a variety of tasks-from managing facility repairs and supervising maintenance staff to coordinating with contractors and vendors. Youll oversee the day-to-day upkeep repair renovation and safety of all CSB facilities and vehicles stepping in as the point of contact for both routine and emergency maintenance requests when the Facilities Manager is unavailable.

Your responsibilities will include creating and managing work orders assigning tasks to technicians inspecting the quality of completed work and ensuring that maintenance needs are addressed promptly and this role your leadership will help protect over twenty million dollars in agency assets while directly supporting the safety of more than 700 staff members and the many individuals we serve throughout the community. Your technical knowledge in areas such as HVAC systems electrical plumbing and general building maintenance will guide your decision-making and planning. Whether youre conducting daily inspections coordinating service calls or preparing long-term maintenance strategies your work will help create a safe and reliable environment across all agency properties.

To be successful as the Coordinator of Facilities Maintenance at the Hampton-Newport News Community Services Board candidates must possess a minimum of five years of experience in building vehicle and equipment maintenance. Experience should specifically include commercial HVAC systems and electrical switch gear ensuring a comprehensive understanding of critical operational components. Strong skills in project management and effective communication are essential for supervising staff and coordinating with contractors and vendors. A valid Virginia drivers license is also required as the role involves overseeing the maintenance of vehicles and coordinating site visits. The ability to prioritize tasks effectively and respond to emergencies promptly will be vital in maintaining the safety and functionality of all facilities and equipment.

Knowledge and skills required for the position are:

  • Five (5) years experience in building vehicle and equipment maintenance including commercial HVAC and electrical switch gear.
  • Valid VA drivers license.
