The Inflight Services & Satellite Commercial Hub division within T Wholesale leads the development sales and design of cutting-edge connectivity and service solutions for aircraft serving airlines worldwide.

We are proud to operate the first LTE-based mobile network dedicated to aircraft connectivity putting DT on the map with the unique European Aviation Network; a globally unparalleled inflight connectivity solution.

Finally the Satellite Commercial Hub serves as the central liaison to a growing ecosystem of SatCom industry close collaboration with Deutsche Telekoms cross-functional teams we negotiate key contracts and identify growth opportunities within the satellite sector to empower Deutsche Telekoms sales units and market segments.

Your Tasks

As the Lead of the Inflight Services & Satellite Commercial Hub (m/f/d) you will be responsible for three business areas:

  • Inflight Services: Driving growth by providing cutting-edge inflight connectivity (IFC) solutions for the airline industry

  • EAN: P&L responsibility (Network-as-a-service) for the ground infrastructure of the European Aviation Network

  • Satellite Commercial Hub: Grow awareness in DT group for satellite-supported business and consumer propositions and negotiate key contracts in alignment with DTs satellite strategy

Across these business areas you will be responsible for:

  • Shaping the strategic direction and operational design of the division as a member of the International Connectivity & Digital Wholesale Solutions management team

  • Accelerating the growth of Deutsche Telekoms Satellite and Aviation connectivity business

  • Building and maintaining strong networks with external partners and customers in the Satcom and Aviation industries as well as collaborate closely with internal units such as Group Technology (GT/VTI) Telekom Deutschland Technik (TDT) IoT Group Strategy B2B Germany and B2B Europe PRA and national subsidiaries

  • Define and execute strategies for developing the key partners and customers overseeing their integration and growth

  • The preparation of strategic decision-making materials and the presentation of their findings to senior management

  • Leading the strategy and financial planning processes for both the Satellite Commercial Hub and Inflight Services holding full P&L responsibility for the division (EAN Inflight Services)

  • Identifying new business development innovation and growth opportunities and manage their successful implementation

  • Developing sales and account strategies for Inflight Services top accounts and nurture strategic customer relationships

  • Lead a diverse team of subject-matter experts including the Head of Inflight Services who reports directly to you

Your Profile

You are an entrepreneurial leader with:

  • A degree in economics technology or a related field or equivalent professional training and specialization. Alternatively several years of experience in Sales Product Management or Strategy/Business Development
  • A proven track record of leading virtual teams and strategic projects including cross-functional collaboration ideally within an international context
  • Deep knowledge of the technological regulatory and market frameworks governing the satellite communications and / or Inflight Connectivity space
  • An entrepreneurial mindset: You can think and act like an entrepreneur beyond technical expertise we are looking for someone with a spirit of innovation and the ability to identify new markets or business opportunities
  • Leadership skills: Experience in leading teams with a self-understanding as a coach and mentor. The ability to recognize and nurture individual strengths as well as to create a positive and supportive working environment
  • Experience negotiating and closing significant contractspreferably with satellite connectivity providers hyperscalers airlines or major technology companies
  • Outstanding written and spoken English skills are essential as all negotiations and key communications are conducted in English. Business fluency in German also a bonus
  • High flexibility proactivity customer focus and solution orientation complemented by excellent networking skills across organizational boundaries
  • Initiative motivation and a clear focus on execution and assertiveness
  • Resilience in the face of challenges consistently finding and implementing constructive objective solutions in difficult situations
