Neuberger Bermans Private Debt platform manages over $22 billion dedicated to credit investing in high quality North American companies owned by private equity firms. NB Private Debt focuses on performing first lien senior secured loans to U.S. private equity-owned companies. The Private Debt team sits within NB Alternatives which has over $130 billion of investor commitments dedicated to private markets investing.
The Liquidity and Liability Management Associate will have high visibility and will play an integral role as part of the NB Private Debt Team working closely with the 20-person Investment Team Fundraising and Marketing Team Finance Team and other professionals across the firm. The position provides an opportunity to work at a leading private credit platform in a fast-paced entrepreneurial environment. The role is based in New York (preferred) or Dallas and provides an opportunity to be an early entrant into a rapidly growing business.
Responsibilities:
Assist with the day-to-day management of subscription line and asset-backed credit facilities. Duties include borrowing base maintenance monthly and quarterly reporting and hypothetical/stress test analysis
Assist with liquidity reporting and management across the platform ensuring adequate capital reserves are in place to meet all investment needs or fund liabilities
Maintain internal data management platform and use data to assist with various analyses to provide valuable insights to the Investment and Senior Portfolio Management Teams
Facilitate ongoing correspondence and asset review process with leverage providers
Collaborate closely with the Investment Team on monitoring of pipeline investments performance of existing investments and key events / material amendments impacting the existing portfolio
Assist with allocations of new investments giving consideration to existing company exposure industry / sector concentration investment vehicle capacity and efficient financing treatment in underlying credit facilities
Assist with implementation / maintenance of subscription line and asset-backed facility credit agreements including closely tracking terms pricing and other critical factors for efficient liability management
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree with 1-3 years of work experience in Private Credit Asset Back Securities Structured Finance or on the buy-side
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address issues within the loan portfolio and optimize performance
Experience in managing loan portfolios including monitoring performance and compliance with covenants
Experience with both subscription line and asset-backed facility legal agreements including analysis of existing terms and limitations as well as with onboarding of new facilities and amendments to existing documents.
Strong attention to detail excellent judgment critical thinking and written skills; ability to articulate and present ideas effectively both orally and in written form
Team-player attitude with a desire to contribute to the growth of the platform
High proficiency in Microsoft Excel; willingness to learn internal systems and databases
Compensation Details
The salary range for this role is $100000-$140000. This is the lowest to highest salary we in good faith believe we would pay for this role at the time of this posting. We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and the range may be modified in the future. This range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in the job posting location. An employees pay position within the salary range will be based on several factors including but limited to relevant education qualifications certifications experience skills seniority geographic location business sector performance shift travel requirements sales or revenue-based metrics market benchmarking data any collective bargaining agreements and business or organizational needs. This job is also eligible for a discretionary bonus which along with base salary and retirement contributions is part of our total comprehensive package.
