Northwest AEA provides special education and school improvement services to 34 public school districts and 32 accredited non-public schools. The agency serves 45000 students and more than 5000 educators in a 10-county area of Northwest Iowa (Lyon Osceola Sioux OBrien Plymouth Cherokee Woodbury Ida Monona and Crawford).

Our headquarters is located at 5800 Discovery Blvd. near the Sioux Gateway Airport in Sioux City with regional offices in Cherokee Denison Le Mars Onawa and Sioux Center.

Job Summary

Provide service and support to internal staff and external customers in all aspects of technology including hardware & and software support and device repair (computers & tablets).


Qualifications

Education:

  • A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
  • An associates degree in electronics computer science or related field or two years of experience repairing computers and tablets.
  • Hold and maintain a valid Iowa drivers license.

Essential Functions - Device Repair

  • Troubleshoot and diagnose equipment malfunctions.
  • Maintain or repair supported types of computers and tablets (Mac/Windows/iPad).
  • Obtain various vendor certifications (Dell HP Apple etc.) as directed.
  • Daily maintenance and organization of the equipment repair area.
  • Track work orders and compile job costs.
  • Maintain accurate equipment repair records for accounting purposes.
  • Communicate with clients regarding the status of equipment repair.
  • Monitor own work to maintain a high standard of quality.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Functions - Help Desk

  • Assist in promoting and implementing the AEAs technology plan.
  • Maintain technology devices and provide support to AEA staff for computers monitors keyboards mouse hard drives and audio/visual equipment.
  • Monitor and respond in a timely manner to technology support requests.
  • Maintenance of user devices including upgrading and configurations as needed.
  • Assist in the deployment configuration and support of operating systems on desktops and mobile devices.
  • Provide training on technology devices to employees.
  • Maintain knowledge of all applications used within the AEA to provide support to employees as needed.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all technology equipment and software.

  • Maintain confidentiality related to agency district employee students and family information.
