The Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University invites applications for a full-time tenure-track position at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises with a preference for a mid-August 2025 start date. Consideration for Associate Professor of Entrepreneurship will be reserved for scholars who meet the threshold of achievement for the receipt of tenure at Syracuse University. We prefer entrepreneurship scholars who do work at the individual level of analysis. Entrepreneurship is a central pillar of the strategic plans of both Syracuse University and the Whitman School as demonstrated by the presence of the standalone academic Department of Entrepreneurship & Emerging Enterprises ( EEE ). The EEE Department offers degree programs in entrepreneurship at the undergraduate graduate and doctoral levels. Its educational programs and research productivity are consistently ranked among the best in the United States. The department was recently ranked #2 globally in the TCU Entrepreneurship Research Productivity rankings. EEE faculty are highly research active and publish regularly in leading journals in entrepreneurship management and related disciplines. They are also excellent teachers. Currently the department comprises eleven tenure-track research active faculty members as well as a number of highly engaged Professors of Practice. The department has an active program of seminars and visitors as well as a variety of community-connected programs. Overall the department provides one of the strongest scholarly entrepreneurship environments in the world. Responsibilities
This individual will join the EEE team and work to advance the programs national and international reputation which includes research teaching entrepreneurial outreach in the community and the professional development of PhD candidates and junior faculty. There are opportunities to engage in a variety of new entrepreneurship programmatic initiatives that will help to elevate the already excellent international profile of the department and Whitman School. This faculty member will be expected to publish in leading entrepreneurship and management journals provide innovative teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels teach entrepreneurship courses and have enthusiasm and ability to provide organizational service at the department and school levels.
Qualifications
Qualified candidates must have an earned Ph.D. in Entrepreneurship or a related discipline.
