Job Description

Job Description
The College of Law is seeking a part-time instructor to teach a 2-3 credit course Foundational Skills for Attorney Licensing in its online program. The course provides an understanding of the bar review and bar exam process as well as the skills necessary to be successful in the licensing process. A significant portion of the course is spent discussing how to approach and do well on practice bar exam questions including essays performance tests and multiple-choice questions. The course covers how to learn from bar review outlines and lectures and how to conduct a self-assessment to understand personal study habits and adjustments which must be made prior to the review of bar-tested subjects. The course also covers specific topics and skills to help students understand how to manage their attitude stress and study time.

Responsibilities
Order the appropriate books and materials in advance of the class start date. Prepare lectures projects and other student assignments. Maintain regularly scheduled office hours. Present instruction based on the competencies and performance levels of the course. Meet all designated class periods. Submit completed mid-semester progress reports and final grades according to the College of Law and University regulations. Grade student assignments and exams in a timely manner. Provide departmentally sanctioned forms for completed student evaluations

Qualifications
Excellent academic record. JD degree. Post-JD experience and credentials must include substantial. Leadership-level experience developing and implementing robust law school programming for academic and bar success. Substantial experience with skills instruction at the law school level is required. Skills and abilities to effectively interact with diverse groups of students colleagues and community members.
