Job Description

Computer Network Support Specialist
Long-term contract
Place of work: Lanham MD- Hybrid role- Prefer local candidates from DMV areas
Client: Federal
Pay Rate: Market/DOE
Need Security Clearance
Position Summary
Provide foundational network support services including troubleshooting maintenance and basic configuration tasks. Entry-level position with growth potential in network engineering field.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Help Desk Support: Provide first-level network troubleshooting and support
  • Network Monitoring: Monitor network performance and identify issues
  • Documentation: Maintain network documentation and procedures
  • Basic Configuration: Assist with basic network device configuration
  • Incident Response: Respond to network incidents and escalate as appropriate
  • User Support: Assist end users with network connectivity issues
  • Maintenance Tasks: Perform routine network maintenance activities
Required Qualifications
Education
  • Minimum: Associates degree in Computer Science Information Technology or related field
  • Acceptable: High school diploma with relevant certifications and experience
Certifications (Required)
  • Network (CompTIA) OR
  • Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA)
  • Additional cloud certifications preferred (AWS/Azure/GCP)
Experience Requirements
  • Minimum: 2 years of experience in network support and implementation
  • Technical Skills: Basic understanding of:
    • Network protocols
    • Routing and switching concepts
    • Network troubleshooting methodologies
  • Support Experience: Experience in technical support or help desk environment
Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelors degree in technical field
  • Experience with network monitoring tools
  • Customer service experience
  • Government or enterprise environment experience
