We are seeking an experienced and driven Project Manager to lead and coordinate complex aerospace and defense programs with a focus on rotary-wing aircraft such as the Black Hawk (UH-60) and Sikorsky S92 platforms. This individual will be responsible for the successful delivery of projects across the entire lifecycle from planning and development to production integration and sustainment while ensuring compliance with industry and regulatory standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the end-to-end management of helicopter-related programs including Black Hawk and S92 upgrades retrofits and system integrations.
- Serve as the primary liaison between internal teams vendors and external stakeholders.
- Manage project scope schedules budgets (including multimillion-dollar accounts) resources and risk mitigation strategies.
- Coordinate with engineering operations procurement quality assurance and logistics teams to ensure project alignment and deliverables.
- Ensure all project activities comply with the relevant military/civilian aviation regulations.
- Oversee contract performance including change management reporting and Earned Value Management (EVM) practices.
- Drive process improvements and best practices in project governance and reporting.
- Mentor and support junior project managers and cross-functional team leads.
Requirements
Required Qualifications:
- 15 years of project/program management experience in aerospace defense or aviation industries.
- Proven expertise in managing projects related to Black Hawk (UH-60) and/or Sikorsky S92 helicopters.
- Bachelor s degree in Engineering Aerospace Business or a related field (Master s or MBA preferred).
- Strong working knowledge of Earned Value Management Agile/Waterfall methodologies and risk management frameworks.
- Proficient in MS Project Jira SAP and project tracking/reporting tools.
- Strong stakeholder management and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication leadership and team-building abilities.
- Ability to obtain/maintain a security clearance
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP certification (Project Management Institute)
- Experience working with international military and commercial aviation customers
- Knowledge of FAA EASA and/or NATO airworthiness requirements
- Familiarity with rotorcraft avionics mission systems and structural upgrades
