Job Description

We have an exciting opportunity to join Dougie Macs Retail Team as a Deputy Shop Manager at our Cheadle 1 shop right at the heart of the local community.

About the Role

As Deputy Shop Manager youll play a key role in supporting the day-to-day running of a busy friendly and well-established shop alongside our Shop Manager. Youll help lead a committed team of staff and volunteers to deliver great customer experiences maintain strong stock flow and achieve sales targets all while supporting our vital work in the community. Youll:

  • Support with shop operations including opening and closing procedures
  • Lead and motivate volunteers and staff creating a positive and inclusive environment
  • Deliver excellent customer service and promote Gift Aid to boost revenue
  • Sort price and merchandise stock to maximise appeal and sales
  • Step into the Shop Managers role in their absence
  • Ensure cash handling till operations and shop standards are carried out safely and efficiently

About You

Were looking for someone with:

  • A passion for people and great service
  • Previous experience in retail (charity or high street preferred)
  • Strong organisational skills and a positive hands-on attitude
  • The ability to support and motivate volunteers
  • Flexibility to adapt to changing needs including weekend cover
  • A creative flair for merchandising and attention to detail

Salary: 25656 per annum

Hours: 40 hours a week (5 over 6 days)

Closing: 17th August 2025

Interviews: 27th August 2025

Taster session and 2nd interview will also be organised.
