JOB OVERVIEW
Job Title: Physiatrist Radiation Therapy
Job Type: Locum Tenens
Location: Cooperstown NY
Service Setting: Inpatient Radiation Oncology
Coverage Type: Clinical Only
Coverage Period: Dec 1 2025 Ongoing
Clinical Shift Schedule: Typically 8a 5p; flexibility required for early/late shifts due to machine downtime
On-Call Shift Schedule: 1 2 times per week
COVERAGE DATES
Dec 1 2025 Ongoing (dependent on recruitment)
PATIENT INFORMATION
Patient Demographics: Adult cancer patients
Patient Volume/Census: 40 50 patients daily
Case Mix: Oncology Radiation Therapy
FACILITY INFORMATION
Trauma Level: Level 3
EMR System: Epic
Specialty Backup Available: Physician coverage available
Reason for Coverage: Dependent on recruitment
PRIVILEGES & COMPLIANCE
Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
Credentialing Timeline: Approximately 120 days

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Licenses: Active New York State license required
Board: ABR preferred; preferred board certified
Certifications: Completion of residency in medical physics
Experience: Radiation oncology experience preferred
Other Qualifications: Flexibility for varied shift hours due to machine downtimes
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide radiation physics support for adult oncology patients
Conduct and oversee required procedures including SBRT SRS HDR and radiopharmaceuticals
Collaborate with the radiation oncology team and provide physician support
Ensure compliance with safety and quality standards
Utilize EMR system (Epic) for documentation and coordination
