This role is within Fellos Self-Directed Services department where we contract with the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration (DDA) as a Financial Management and Counseling Services (FMCS) this Medicaid program participants are the Employer of Record and hire their own workers and choose their services while Fello handles all administrative tasks including payroll and bill payment.
The Onboarding Specialist provides administrative and customer service support and process guidance to FMCS participant employers. The primary role of the Onboarding Specialist is to assist in the facilitation of the hiring onboarding and training compliance process for FMCS participant employees aligned to requirements of the Maryland Developmental Disabilities Administration and FMCS standards and best practices.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented well-versed in onboarding procedures and experienced in reviewing and processing new hire documentation in alignment with compliance requirements. They should be highly organized tech-savvy with HRIS systems and capable of managing multiple onboarding workflows simultaneously. Excellent communication and customer service skills are essential particularly when navigating sensitive or escalated issues with participant employers and employees. The ability to adapt to changing systems and procedures while maintaining professionalism is critical in this dynamic environment.
This position requires a high school diploma or GED (a bachelors degree in business or human resources is preferred) and at least 2 years of experience in human resources with a focus on onboarding and new hire documentation. Proficiency in HRIS systems and knowledge of basic employment law requirements are essential.
