GCP Devops Architect

We are seeking an experienced GCP Devops Architect to lead the design implementation and optimization of cloud solutions on Google Cloud Platform (GCP). The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise in GCP services have experience with cloud migrations and be adept at building scalable secure and cost-effective cloud architectures tailored to business needs.
Your role
1. Architectural Design and Planning
o Develop cloud architecture solutions leveraging GCP services such as Compute Engine BigQuery Cloud Storage Pub/Sub Cloud SQL and Kubernetes Engine.
o Translate business and technical requirements into scalable and secure cloud designs.
o Define architecture blueprints best practices and cloud standards for deployment.
2. Cloud Migration Strategy
o Assess existing systems workloads and data to determine cloud migration strategies.
o Design migration plans for applications data and infrastructure to GCP.
o Optimize resource utilization during migration to ensure minimal downtime and cost efficiency.
3. Implementation and Deployment
o Lead the setup and configuration of GCP environments including VPCs IAM policies firewalls and hybrid connectivity.
o Implement Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using tools like Terraform Deployment Manager or Ansible.
o Collaborate with DevOps teams to streamline CI/CD pipelines and container orchestration.
4. Performance and Cost Optimization
o Monitor and optimize cloud resource usage for performance and cost-efficiency.
o Implement solutions for high availability disaster recovery and auto-scaling.
o Leverage tools like Stackdriver for observability logging and monitoring.
5. Security and Compliance
o Design cloud architectures with a strong focus on security and regulatory compliance (e.g. GDPR HIPAA).
o Implement identity and access management (IAM) best practices.
o Ensure data protection encryption and secure network configurations.
6. Stakeholder Collaboration and Leadership
o Work closely with cross-functional teams including engineering operations and product teams to align cloud architecture with business goals.
o Conduct architectural reviews present proposals and lead discussions with stakeholders.
o Mentor and guide team members on GCP best practices and emerging technologies.
Your skills and experience
Technical Expertise
o Extensive hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services including but not limited to:
Compute Engine Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and App Engine
BigQuery Cloud Storage and Dataflow
Pub/Sub and Cloud Functions
o Strong understanding of cloud networking (VPC VPN Interconnect DNS).
o Proficiency in Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform or Deployment Manager.
o Experience in designing and implementing microservices architectures and containerized workloads.
Cloud Architecture and Migration Experience
o Proven experience designing cloud-native and hybrid solutions.
o Expertise in cloud migration strategies for workloads and data.
Soft Skills
o Strong leadership and communication skills.
o Ability to articulate and document architecture decisions and trade-offs.
o Collaborative mindset to work with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Skills
GCP certifications (e.g. Professional Cloud Architect Professional Data Engineer).
Experience with multi-cloud and hybrid cloud architectures.
Familiarity with DevOps practices CI/CD pipelines and tools like Jenkins or GitOps.
Knowledge of AI/ML services on GCP (Vertex AI AutoML).
Security certifications (e.g. CCSP CISSP) are a plus.
