Quality Staffing Inc. also doing business as Goddard Mason Executive Search a leading full-service employment agency matching qualified talent with some of the areas top companies is looking for an experienced Public Health Program Director 1to work through our agency as a contract employee with the Tennessee Department of Health (TN DOH) located in Nashville TN. This is ahybrid position working from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm Monday through Fridayfor a total of 37.5 hours per week. The pay rate for this position is $32.00 per hour.
Public Health Program Director Job Description:
The Tennessee Department of Health is seeking a Public Health Program Director 1 to work within the Chronic Disease Prevention and Health Promotion section of the Division of Family Health and Wellness. This role will serve as the Program Director for the States Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program. The primary function of the position is to address the smoking rate of pregnant individuals by implementing evidence-based interventions convening stakeholders and incorporating epidemiologic data to reduce the incidence and burden statewide. Under direction the Program Director will be responsible for the programs development and administrative work of average difficulty and statewide responsibility for the program grant and program and will perform related work as required.
Public Health Program Director Key Job Responsibilities will include:
- Responsible for the planning implementation and reporting of the States Pregnancy Smoking Cessation Program.
- Responsible for developing monitoring and maintaining the program contract and budget.
- Determining the time cost resources and materials needed to successfully enhance and expand the programs cost effectively.
- Supervising and actively participating in the preparation and maintenance of the program.
- Facilitating the development and short- and long-term program strategies and goals to enhance the program.
- Providing technical assistance to health department staff community organizations and funded contractors for the implementation and development of the program.
- Developing and maintaining strategic partnerships with internal and external programs partners and organizations.
- Resolving conflicts and settling disputes and grievances with internal and external partners as it pertains to the program.
- Identifying and ensuring the implementation of educational resources needed for community partners to implement the program.
- Communicating and interpreting policies and procedures to staff and community partners regarding the program.
- Performing and maintaining public contact and liaison work within other departments governmental entities social and community agencies and others in implementing explaining and interpreting programs to obtain desired actions.
- Providing subject matter expertise and guidance as it relates to the identification implementation and evaluation of evidence-based interventions designed to reduce smoking during pregnancy.
- Creating and distributing social media messaging press releases media campaigns and various brochures for the advancement of the program.
Education and Qualification Requirements for Research Analyst position:
- Graduation from an accredited college or university with a bachelors degree.
- A minimum of five (5) years of full-time professional health program work.
- A minimum of one (1) year of full-time supervisory work or statewide program oversight.
Additional Information for Public Health Program Director position:
- This hybrid position has in-person attendance expected for the first day of employment for laptop deployment and onboarding in Nashville TN.
- Contract for this position is expected to be renewed annually pending program funding; funding is anticipated to continue at least through June 2029.
- Candidates MUST be a resident of TN.
- In-person attendance for quarterly meetings and professional development opportunities.
- Travel to Nashville office will not be reimbursed however travel for site visits will be reimbursed.
