Job Description

JOB SUMMARY:

The School-Based Behavioral Health Manager provides leadership coordination and oversight for teams of school-based behavioral health clinicians. Reporting to the Director of Behavioral Health this role is responsible for ensuring consistent high-quality behavioral health services and supporting workforce development across diverse clinical settings. The Manager works closely with departmental leaders practice administrators and the Service Line Director to align staffing supervision and service delivery with MAHECs standards of care and strategic goals.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Leadership & Administrative (0.9 FTE)

This leadership position uses a three-tiered frameworkDevelopment Quality Services and Sustainabilityto guide clinical excellence cross-departmental collaboration and long-term workforce strength.

Development: Cultivating Excellence and Strategic Relationships

  • Foster a culture of professional growth and high-quality behavioral health care across the schools that are served.
  • Cultivates a culture of high-quality evidence-based care and professionalism.
  • Serve as a strategic partner in behavioral health operations supporting integration and relationship-building between behavioral health services.
  • Promote the role of school-based behavioral health clinicians as essential partners in whole-person care aligning with the organizations mission and service values.
  • Collaborate the Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Service Director and School-Based Practice Administrator to ensure behavioral health services meet departmental needs and patient expectations.
  • Meets regularly with direct reports 1:1 to review workflow address staff concerns and discuss opportunities for growth.

Quality Services: Supervision Accountability and Clinical Outcomes

  • Oversees day-to-day operations of School-Based Behavioral Health services with a focus on clinical effectiveness and operational efficiency.
  • Provide direct supervision and coaching to team supervisors and/or clinicians reinforcing adherence to clinical best practices and agency policies. Support staff with case consultations crisis response and professional development needs
  • Monitor service utilization documentation compliance fidelity to treatment models and patient outcomes across multiple teams.
  • Leads regular team meetings facilitate trainings and deliver relevant updates.
  • Monitors service utilization fidelity to clinical models and treatment outcomes; leads internal audits and performance improvement initiatives.

Sustainability: Workforce Stability and Cross-Departmental Alignment

  • Oversee staffing models and productivity expectations for team members working collaboratively with the School-Based Practice Administrator and the Director of Behavioral Health to ensure appropriate coverage and service availability.
  • Partner with Talent Management the Director of Behavioral Health the School-Based Practice Administrator and other departmental leads on recruitment onboarding and retention strategies.
  • Coordinate with the Psychiatry and Behavioral Health Service Line Director to identify opportunities for enhanced integration continuity of care and collaborative care initiatives.
  • Maintain records sufficient to meet County State and Federal clinical documentation requirements including preparation for monitoring visits and corrective action plan development and execution.

Clinical Responsibilities (0.1 FTE)

  • Provide individual family and group therapy to clients using clinical models and modalities approved by the agency and the service definition for children and adolescents who are being referred to mental health and substance abuse services.
  • Conduct Comprehensive Clinical Assessments develop treatment plans based on evidence-informed practices incorporate internal and external collateral information (i.e. CCAs Psychological Testing Medical Evaluations etc.) into case conceptualization and treatment planning complete prior authorizations and maintain timely and accurate documentation within the electronic health record.
  • Participate in on-call rotations and respond to urgent clinical needs.

Within your area of expertise showing respect and showing empathy where appropriate with your colleagues patients and their family at all times even when its most difficult to do so. SPECIFIED SKILLS

  • COMPUTER
    • Excellent skills in Microsoft Office including Word Excel PowerPoint and database applications required.
  • FOREIGN LANGUAGE
    • Spanish speaking skills preferred.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Direct supervision of School-Based Behavioral Health Supervisors
  • Clinical supervision of LCSW-A or LCMHC-A as appropriately licensed

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    • Masters Degree or PhD in one of the Behavioral Health/Social Services sciences
    • Licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in North Carolina.

  • PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
    • At least two years of supervisory/management experience in human services
    • At least two years of clinical experience in crisis assessment and treatment with multi-system families.
    • Meet North Carolina criteria for Clinical Supervision.

REQUIRED LICENSES:

  • Licensed as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor (LCMHC) or Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT) in the State of North Carolina.

SCHEDULE:

  • Regular attendance on-site is an essential function of this position. Typical business hours are Monday Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm (or flexed to best meet the needs of the clients and/or the Division); 40 hours per workweek; weekend holiday or evening coverage is occasionally required. Work hours will need to be flexible in order to respond to special work assignments or evening activities as requested by the team leader.

POSITION COMPENSATION:

$71260 - $85000

  • Total salary amount determined at time of offer and includes base add on for qualified years of experience and eligible dual or additional credentials (ex: MPH related PhD LCAS)
