Yarra Libraries is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented professional with expertise in cataloguing metadata and library systems to join our Collections and Shared Services team.
Working across both technical services and frontline environments this role plays a key part in ensuring the integrity and accessibility of our collections through quality metadata system support and data-informed decision making.
Youll contribute to the ongoing development and maintenance of the Library Management System (Symphony) provide cataloguing support in line with Libraries Victoria standards and help staff across Yarra Libraries access the data tools and training they need to deliver excellent service.
Key responsibilities include:
Maintaining accurate and consistent metadata across Yarra Libraries physical and digital collections.
Supporting the configuration and use of the Library Management System (Symphony) including reporting and analytics tools like Blue Cloud Analytics.
Performing original and copy cataloguing using MARC21 RDA DDC and LCSH standards.
Liaising with suppliers and partners to ensure shelf-ready materials meet required standards.
Assisting with staff training process documentation and system troubleshooting.
