Parking Services Manager

This is an exciting opportunity to work for an ambitious fast-moving local authority with a vision for improving the quality of its services to those living working and travelling in the city. We are on a journey to reset reshape and restart our services to support Birmingham and allow it to thrive.
You will be working at the heart of the Councils improvement journey leading on an exciting transformation helping us to deliver a flexible parking capability that recognises the varying needs of our customers communities and neighbouring partners.
To support our aims we have undertaken a strategic review of Parking Services and are now embarking on the next phase of building a parking capability which is fit for purpose future-proof and puts our customers and communities at the heart of everything that we do.
This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future of Parking Services. The role involves leading the day-to-day operation while contributing to the strategic direction of the service including playing a key role in the transformation journey and the upcoming procurement of a new Parking Enforcement Contract.
We are looking for an experienced and talented Head of Parking Services who shares our values and aspirations to take on this challenge. Previous proven strategic and operational management experience of delivering Parking Services in a large metropolitan environment or a core city isJC1essential. Experience of working in a high-volume transactional environment delivering at pace and service transformation would also be a distinct advantage.
Experience of working in a partnership environment - where managing political relationships with sensitivity is key - is highly valued. A strong understanding of how service data can drive performance and improvement is also important.
Were looking for someone who brings a proven track record in delivering high-performing services while also enhancing the customer experience. A collaborative and fair-minded approach is essential especially when navigating complex decisions with care and clarity.
Youll be someone who values teamwork and brings out the best in othersan empowering people manager who sets clear goals fosters continuous improvement and supports their team through change and transformation.
The post is offered on a full time permanent basis with a requirement to work three days from council offices.
