The opportunity

As a Logistics Specialist within our Supply Chain team you will be responsible for ensuring compliant import and export activities for the legal entity. This includes adherence to applicable U.S. and international trade laws and regulations as well as compliance with Magic Leaps corporate policies. You will work closely with freight forwarders U.S. customs officers customs brokers and both internal and external stakeholders on all matters related to customs and import/export regulations.

What youll do

  • Prepare daily international shipping documents and ensure compliance with EAR and other export regulations.
  • Lead export compliance activities including classification (EAR/ECCN and HTS) denied party screening foreign national screening (deemed exports) export clearance and record-keeping.
  • Maintain and improve work instructions and compliance procedures.
  • Support AES filings and correct export documentation as needed.
  • Communicate with carriers and suppliers to ensure compliance and timely fulfillment of shipping requirements.
  • Monitor and track inbound and outbound shipments; manage pre-alert entries and documentation to support on-time delivery and customs clearance.
  • Prepare and submit customs documentation (e.g. CBP Forms) and ensure adherence to U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) requirements.
  • Manage inventory records reconcile data and ensure accurate merchandise tracking.
  • Collaborate with internal teams (inventory finance) and external partners (freight forwarders brokers CBP) to ensure compliant and efficient logistics operations.
  • Support internal external and government trade compliance audits and assessments.

The experience you bring

  • 5 years of experience in import and export compliance
  • Strong knowledge of CBP regulations (19 CFR) and associated benefits
  • Proficient with customs documentation including CBP Formsand 7512
  • Bachelors degree or equivalent experience in logistics trade compliance or related field
  • Experience developing Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions
  • Ability to read interpret and apply government trade regulations
  • Solid understanding of Incoterms and international shipping practices
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel and spreadsheet management

Its exciting if you also have

  • Experience using Google Workspace applications
  • Experience working with SAP or similar ERP systems
