What You Will Do

This position is being established as part of the Child Care Access Means Parents in School Program (CCAMPIS) grant requirements. This position will assist in supporting a Department of Education grant funded program at the university that supports the needs of low-income students with children. The CCAMPIS grant is designed to support low income student parents by connecting them to child care resources and parenting support as a way to support student retention persistence and graduation.

The Program Assistant will report directly to the Principal Investigator (PI) and work as a collaborative member of the CCAMPIS Leadership team. The Program Assistant will manage the CCAMPIS grant application process as well as establish and maintain contracts and partnerships with participating off campus childcare providers. The Program Assistant will administer and track monthly childcare tuition payments by working closely with SIUE Office of Financial Aid and Administrative Accounting.

Additionally this position will oversee grant activities including recruiting university students for the program evaluating student documentation to determine program eligibility for CCAMPIS and other family resources such as Preschool for All Services maintenance of records and feedback coordination of data collection necessary for evaluation and preparation of the Annual Program Review document conduct outreach and education to the campus community to increase support for students with children.

The position develops coordinates and supports student parents and families in pursuit of a higher education degree. This position coordinates services to maximize success persistence recruitment and retention and graduation of student parents.

Grant Application Management
-Oversee the CCAMPIS grant application process ensuring accurate and timely submission of required materials.
Partnerships & Contract Management
-Establish and maintain relationships with off-campus childcare providers ensuring contracts are in place to support participating students.
Financial Management
-Administer and track monthly childcare tuition payments collaborating with the SIUE Office of Financial Aid and Administrative Accounting to ensure proper processing.
Recruitment & Eligibility
-Recruit students for the CCAMPIS program evaluate documentation to determine eligibility for program participation and assist with access to additional resources like Preschool for All Services.
Data Collection & Reporting
-Collect data necessary for program evaluation and maintain accurate records. Assist with preparing the Annual Program Review document.
Outreach & Education
-Conduct outreach to the university community to raise awareness of the program and increase support for student parents.
Student Support
-Provide guidance coordination and resources to student parents to maximize their success in higher education helping with retention persistence and graduation.

FLSA: Non-Exempt

Minimum Acceptable Qualifications

-Bachelors Degree
-One year experience coordinating student support services.

Preferred Qualifications

-Bachelors Degree in social work education human services or related field OR equivalent combination of experience and education
-2 years of experience developing and administering support services or retention programs
-2 years of social work or education experience.
-Must be able to demonstrate commitment and understanding for diverse equitable and inclusive practices.
