The Associate Director Clinical Programs supports the Director in managing the daily operations and ongoing development of the outpatient communication disorders teaching center within the Department of Communication Sciences & Disorders (CSD). The AD supports the compliance of the CSD clinical program with ASHA/CAA HIPAA regulations quality standards and student licensure requirements while overseeing client services facilities management and the expansion of clinical offerings to meet emerging needs and potential opportunities.
The Associate Director provides supervision and mentorship to graduate student clinicians by providing academic and clinical instruction. The AD supports clinical curriculum development and revision and leads alumni engagement initiatives in partnership with departmental and college leadership. Additionally the position is responsible for participating in developing and implementing marketing strategies to promote clinical programs and services and for supporting the professional growth of clinical staff.
As an active member of the department the Associate Director collaborates with faculty staff and external partners to advance clinical education support program initiatives and uphold the highest standards of professional practice. The role requires strong organizational communication team work and leadership skills as well as a commitment to fostering a collaborative and innovative clinical learning environment.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES
Clinical Program Management & Development
- Assist the Director of Clinical Programs in managing daily operations of the outpatient communication disorders clinical training programs ensuring compliance with ASHA/CAA HIPAA and departmental policies.
- Oversee client screenings supports maintenance/upgrading of clinic facilities materials and equipment in collaboration with leadership and assists with the scheduling of various programs within the Robbins Center.
- Partner with leadership in planning and executing the expansion of currently existing and new clinical programs aligned with strategic priorities and emerging needs and opportunities.
- Support marketing initiatives through the creation of brochures mailings and outreach activities to community partners.
- Supervise Clinical Instructor Early Childhood Educator (ECE) position and support group programming led by them. Supervision responsibilities may include the supervision of additional staff members within the Robbins Center related to areas of expertise as assigned by the Director of Clinical Programs (1-5 potential direct reports).
- Mentor Clinical Instructors (CI) in enhancing their skills to deliver high-quality clinical services and supervision.
- Oversee and support development of unified policies processes and protocols that align with curricular and program modalities.
Graduate Education Supervision & Alumni Engagement
- Supervise and mentor graduate student clinicians in a variety of clinical settings providing feedback instruction evaluation and overseeing clinical care.
- Establish and monitor clinical remediation plans for students as needed.
- Provide academic instruction including classroom teaching mentoring and support of curriculum development in collaboration with the Director of Clinical Education and departmental curriculum committees.
- Coordinate alumni engagement efforts with the College Alumni Relations and Department leadership including newsletters events database management and networking initiatives.
Collaboration Departmental Service & Professional Development
- Collaborate with department leadership and college personnel to support clinical education clinical program marketing and scholarship initiatives and current opportunities.
- Participate in departmental meetings events orientations and student advising among others as required to support the operation of the Robbins Center or as delegated by the Director of Clinical Programs..
- Maintain current knowledge of professional standards ASHA accreditation requirements supervision best practices and ensure ongoing credential maintenance.
QUALIFICATIONS Qualifications are deemed required or preferred and represent what is needed to effectively perform the job.
- Masters degree in Speech-Language Pathology with current MA state license and CFCC-ASHA certification in speech-language pathology.
- Between 5 and 7 years of clinical experience at minimum required..
- Experience working within a setting that includes supervision of students in speech- language pathology is highly preferred.
- Experience developing and enforcing policies and procedures.
- Prior experience in a higher education or teaching clinic environment is preferred.
- Experience with a range of communication disorders and client populations.
- Between 1-2 years of experience as a manager is preferred.

- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks and work independently.
- Experience with Microsoft Office Adobe Google Suite webinar technology and presentation software to support remote work and learning environments.
- Experience with the supervision of students and staff members providing clinical service via Telepractice.

Usual Office Conditions
Compensation: $79950.00 - $99900.00 annually commensurate with experience.
