Job Description

Job Summary

The Assistant Director Inter-College Advising (I-CA) Enrollment Management Student Success is responsible for providing administrative program management communications and technological support for the Office of Inter-College Advising (I-CA). Their role will support the standardization and elevation of academic advising practices across Drexels colleges and schools. The Office of Inter-College Advising is responsible for leading strategic academic advising operations and services that foster student success and retention through strategic alignment with EMSS offices and critical academic partners. This includes working with academic offices responsible for policy utilizing information systems coordinating with support infrastructures EMSS partners and developing communications to facilitate student lifecycle management.

The Assistant Director of Inter-College Advising has the primary responsibility for supporting the University in creating proactive data-informed retention initiatives that leverage academic advising professionals and relevant departments and resources. This position reports to the Executive Director of Inter-College Advising (I-CA) to oversee the day-to-day operations and activities of the office along with strategic retention initiatives. The Assistant Director will assist in ensuring that the values of Drexel University and NACADA are clearly communicated through the projects pursued. The Assistant Director assists in executing the offices strategic plan and coordinates other necessary functions as needed.

Essential Functions

  • Assist with implementing dynamic strategic retention initiatives that leverage academic advising professionals and associated resources to support student lifecycle management.
  • Provide day-to-day operational and technical support for the office.
  • Assist in crafting the central and cohesive voice for university advising.
  • Develop and implement communication plans and strategies for students and the academic advisors who support them.
  • Support in disseminating and training advisors on academic policy procedure and other key initiatives.
  • Develop disseminate and archive communications and resources for advising practice in a central repository for Advisors.
  • Reviews institutional data to uncover opportunities to improve advising services.
  • Support in developing and constructing systems resources and tools to ensure professional education accuracy and accountability of advising practice.
  • Utilize Banner DegreeWorks SharePoint OAS and other software related to undergraduate students curricula and related functions.
  • Represent the office at events coordinated with Admissions and Student Life to ensure a successful onboarding and transition process as needed
  • Other duties as assigned.

This position is classified as Exempt grade K. Compensation for this grade ranges from 54630 - $81940 per year. Please note that the offered rate for thisposition typically aligns with the minimum to midrange of this grade but it can vary based on thesuccessful candidates qualifications and experience department budget and an internal equity review.
