This role requires provision to be delivered face to face in our Swansea Drop in Centre.

This new role is funded by the Moondance Foundation aiming to Supporting Young people and Families to improve the wellbeing outcomes through a race- faith- and culture-sensitive person-centred and rights-based support service.
The Youth and Family Support worker will split their role between supporting Young people by leading our 3 Drop in sessions per week and providing one to one support to families. The role involves early intervention and prevention to achieve specific wellbeing outcomes: securing rights and entitlements improving physical and mental health supporting transition to independence and protecting from abuse and neglect.
The role will be split 70/30 between Youth Work and Family Support Work
Aims of the Post
1. To deliver the EYST Moondance Project in the Swansea
2. Lead on the planning and delivery of Youth Drop-In Sessions in Swansea
3. To support young people and Families through bespoke one-to-one sessions
4. To work effectively in partnership with agencies in order to improve outcomes for the client group
Principal Accountabilities and Main Duties
General Duties
1. To ensure regular reporting and updates to partners and within EYST as required.
2. To ensure the collection entry and return of information as required for monitoring and evaluation input onto EYST CRM system (Charitylog)
3. To take part in training courses staff meetings and regular supervision
4. To work within relevant health and safety legislation
5. To ensure that the project promotes and reflects equality of opportunity at all levels
6. To ensure that EYST Safeguarding Data Protection Health and Safety and all other relevant policies are implemented.
7. To uphold the confidentiality of information of service users.
8. To carry out any other duties that may from time to time be required
9. Support EYST External Training Delivery when required
Person Specification
Essential
1. A minimum of one years experience working with young people and/or families from ethnic minority backgrounds
2. Knowledge understanding and empathy for issues affecting young people and families from ethnic minorities including Refugee and Asylum seeker backgrounds.
3. Experience of working in partnership with statutory and voluntary organisations and knowledge of local provision.
4. Excellent communications and interpersonal skills (including both clients and professionals)
5. Ability to working under pressure in challenging environments
6. Ability to work independently with minimum supervision and take initiative.
7. Ability to comply with Health & Safety procedures in different environment
8. Knowledge and understanding of Safeguarding including Digital Safeguarding issues.
9. Understanding and knowledge of Confidentiality
10. Organised and self-motivated.
11. Excellent IT skills confident using online engagement platforms including Zoom and Teams
12. Demonstrable commitment to EYSTs organisational values of Equality Human Rights Social Justice and Making a Positive Difference
